so obviously there's an ATL bias at this site. is that because this site is ATL based? i know that ATL is the busiest airport in that nation by a few thousand. anyway, is it ATL or bust around here.
there is a lot of air traffic information and knowledge around the nation that u guys can benefit from. i'm sure ATL is chock full of knowledge, but if u guys open yourselves up to the nation then you will get more complete and diverse answers. I'm a west coast person myself. That's the only reason I'm asking. I'm not ATL or ORD. However, with experience from Phoenix and Oakland, and tower and center...i could provide some insight to regulations and practices. It may not be just ATL specific. For example, my brothers across the bay in SFO have been doing PRM much prominently than anyone else in the country. My ZOA (oakland center for those not in the know) experience can shed some light on the ATL PRM issues. Anyway, i'm not trying to show up on the scene as the next ATC diety, because that I am not. I'm just trying to say that I've been browsing here for a week or two now. And...my conclusion is that we are ATL biased here. Nothing wrong with being ATL biased as they are the "busiest **** airport...period!" |

I came upon this site in my searches for ATC info and, while there is an ATL bias on the site, I find that the people on the forums come from all over the place. Most of us are still applicants who will appreciate any information and input from anyone, especially current controllers.

yes this site is ATL biased. we started with the busiest airspace in the world thinking we might expand to NY or ORD but at the rate you folks click the ads that sponsor this site, there is no plans to expand to other cities unless you all start clicking the ads and showing the sponsors some love.
otherwise you are likely to see this "biased site" become subscriber based (not free).

sorry admin. i didn't mean to come across as arrogant or rude. trust me, amongst controllers ATL is looked highly upon because they are the busiest airport in the nation. you can't argue with numbers.
my only question, despite my ignorance and inappropriate asking of my question, is if this website is ONLY atlanta based. if so, no problem...i'll spend my time elsewhere. i just browsed this site for about an hour or two and felt this has a good premise. i'm intrigued by a lot of the topics discussed here. just wondered if my expertise needed to be based in atlanta before it is taken seriously. i clicked 5 sponsors and will continue to click a few everytime i visit. |

Roddy..
The majority of the tower and Tracon controllers that post on this site have come from somewhere else! They do have a diverse area of knowledge. I cannot speak as to the experience from the Z-types. Don't let the ATL-stuff run you off. |
