Post Will NATCA Strike?

That remains to be determined but NATCA President John Carr has posted an interesting blog today that I would like to suggest you all read:

NATCA does not have the leadership required to instill the patriotism or solidarity within the membership to make a strike successful. The membership does not have the brotherhood, trust in one another, or endurance required to make it happen. No one believes in the "cause" today. A strike would require leadership that can revitalize membership pride and trust in the union, and instill faith in the "cause". If EVERY NATCA member went on strike today, then the impact on the economy would be far more profound than it would have been if the 1981 strike was successful...7...

Unhappy Funny, history repeats itself

When I moved to Washington, after spending most of my career at a Level 12 facility, i discovered this.

NATCA Officials NOW, are not one bit different than PATCO Officials were then.

1st. Where are we going to have lunch.
2nd Where should we meet next, lets make it someplace cool.
3rd Where's my expense sheet.

It's the same way in Washington, It never changes. not until someone has the guts to step up and change things because they should be changed. Not just because they can be changed. Most changes are not for the better.

Sure you need the latest and the greatest equipment. But, you also need dedicated hard working professionals.

not the sweatpants wearing, flip flop wearing, baggie ripped shorts wearing , lazy ass, "what have you done for me lately $150K a year smultzes, that I saw just before I retired.

It went down hill fast. lets file a grievance, lets file an EEO, lets file cause management sux, but in all cases, "Lets File".

O yeah, and while you are at it, "give me more money and I will work less."

I'm sorry it turned out like it did.

I believe controllers should make 150, 200 even more a year.

But, I think they should act like it. look like it and above all earn it.

Some may say sour grapes.

You would be wrong. Sad grapes that The Union bosses allowed this crap to happen again. Lack of competent leadership. Especially where I came from.

You want it.

Act like it. I do wish you well.
