Exclamation Rotating Feed Schedule

Thanks to all of you who have contacted us both via this forum and privately urging us to produce a rotating feed. You asked for it so you got it. Please help us pay for this new feed by visiting one of our advertisers each time you visit this site. We thank you!

To hear the new feed, simply click ROTATION over in the left navigation frame.

Here is the schedule for the rotating feed. We will modify it as you comment and continue to send us suggestions for what you want.

Sunday - Atlanta North Ground Control 121.90
Monday - Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson International, Ramp 4 130.75
Tuesday - Atlanta Clearance Delivery 118.10
Wednesday - Atlanta North Departure 125.70
Thursday - Peachtree Dekalb Tower 120.90
Friday - Atlanta Clearance Delivery 118.10
Saturday - Atlanta South Final Approach 118.35

Notes:

The frequency will switch automatically each night around 11pm EST (local Atlanta time). Switching is automated thanks to some fancy new software. Let us know if you think we're on the wrong freq but wait until after 11pm EST. If you think we are on the wrong frequency, DON'T post a note in the chatbox as we aren't always online. The proper way to get in touch is to send me a private message via this forum which gets emailed to me directly.

It's normal for some frequencies to be quiet depending on the time of day you are listening in.

It's normal for some frequencies to be slightly distorted from time to time. For example, Atlanta Ground and Peachtree Dekalb sometimes experiences distortion. Again, it depends on the time of the day you are monitoring as weather and atmospheric disturbance does affect our radios from time to time. Speaking of which.. who knows which song from 1981 references "atmospheric disturbance"?

We hope you like this new feature. Thanks again for your support of ATCMonitor.com. Happy Holidays and best wishes for a healthy and Happy New Year to you all!

Default Ground help

New to the ground rotation and was wondering if there is something somewhere here that explains the call signs on the ground? Echo, Hotel, Yankee and such?

These controls are very nice to listen to compared to some other ATC sites.

Thanks so much.

Nimrod

"echo" refers to taxiway echo which is labeled as "E" on the field chart
http://atcmonitor.com/katl.pdf. Bravo is "B" and so on...

Default Taxiing

So basically "A" is North Cargo and maintence hangar area, "B" is in between 26R and 26L and so on.

Say a plane lands on 26R, when they cut across looks, like B5 or B3, are they told B5 or B3 or do they do that on their own seeing how the landing was?

Our encoding platform for Atlanta is atop the SunTrust Plaza building in downtown Atlanta.. I think we are too far away from RYY for decent reception but let me try it and I will report back here to advise what it sounds like.

I just ran a quick test and lo and behold, we get decent reception for KRYY from SunTrust Plaza so I have modified our schedule to monitor KRYY for next Monday (instead of Dobbins MGE). Just keep in mind you wont always hear aircraft on the ground or aircraft with low performance radios. But the control tower doesnt sound too bad.. better than I expected so we will try it next Monday (Xmas!).
